Pythia was the name for the high priestess of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi in Greece. For centuries, the Pythia was the most prestigious and authoritative oracle among the Greeks, and she was among the most powerful women of the classical world.
Tempest and Nathaniel Johnstone performed The Pythia on April 16, 2023 at Dusk for Danse Salmagundi’s “Spring Frolics” showcase. Both music and dance is improvised in the moment.
